We are serious about protecting the integrity of this game from hackers and cheaters who would otherwise ruin the fun for the honest players. Used in conjunction with our own anti-exploit measures, Theater reviews, trusted servers, and supplemented by server admins with kick and ban powers we believe that Valve Anti-Cheat will be an effective solution for Call of Duty: Black Ops PC. No “Public Server Files”: Confirmed
Many of these game features are predicated on having a trusted host or server. Otherwise these features would be wide-open to easy exploits and rampant cheating. Also, anti-cheat solutions can be significantly more effective on games that rely on trusted servers. We chose against “public server files” in favor of providing full feature support and protecting the integrity of this title. This doesn't mean you won't have customization or admin capabilities with your servers - because you will. This simply means we've partnered with an exclusive server provider.

We have partnered with GameServers.com as the exclusive provider of dedicated servers for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Every dedicated server for this title will be running on top quality hardware and infrastructure with excellent bandwidth. There will be a ton of official servers at launch for everyone to play on for free. If you want to run your own server you will be able to rent one at a great price (which will never go higher than $0.99/slot). Max Players: Not Confirmed
We have not yet finalized the maximum number of players in ranked or unranked servers. More playtesting is required to determine how high these numbers can go. This happens as late as possible in the project otherwise the game is likely to change in ways that could invalidate the results.

The game is still in development, and the PC team is hard at work making further optimizations. We will announce the min specs in the near future.

In poche parole siamo davanti ad un altra presa per il culo per quanto riguarda il multiplayer. La treyarch aveva annunciato che ci sarebbero stati i server dedicati al posto di quella schifezza creata dalla InfinityWard, il problema è che non avevano detto come sarebbero stati questi dedicati.
In poche parole chi vorrà gestire un server dedicato per impostarlo come vuole sarà obbligato ad acquistarlo da GameServer, e tra l'altro bisognerà vedere fino a che punto sarà personalizzabile.
Peccato, ci speravo in un serverino tutto per noi (basato sulla nostra macchina che ovviamente non è di GameServer) ma mi immagino tutti quei clan che magari si stavano preparando per il nuovo titolo avranno purtroppo ben poca scelta, o migrano su quei server o rimangono a piedi.
Altra cosa non trascurabile sarà l'ubicazione dei server, non si sa se questa società ha dei server in Italia e se li ha chi li noleggera li lascerà con accesso libero? O ancora....se trovo un server senza password sarà abbastanza vicino a me da consentirmi l'accesso in base al ping?

Mah...ormai gli fps sono stati rovinati dalle leggi del mercato...purtroppo mi "tocchera" comprarlo, avendo tutti i precedenti è diventata per lo più una collezione per me.

C'è anche la possibilità di "suggerire" una location dove posizionare i server, però di certo non apriranno delle farm proprie per buttarli in piedi ma affitteranno strutture già esistenti in quella zona...e qui sta la "truffa", mettiamo il caso che in Italia si basino su Aruba un clan che ha già i suoi server proprio su Aruba non avrà comunque la possibilità di aprire un dedicato del gioco anche se alla fine la farm è la stessa.

provato ieri sera giusto un paio d'ore; spettacolo...
Io ho qualche problema col pc, freeze vari e ingiustificati, ma graficamente direi che è qualcosa di veramente bello.
Ieri sera, visto che è oggi il d1, c'era qualche evidente problema di lag su tutti i server online, speriamo sia un problema solo dovuto a quello, ma per il resto mi piace davvero un sacco, sia il single che il multi....
