Mr. Jaap Wagenvoort ha messo a disposizione, sul suo sito ( http://www.wagenvoort.net/gpcos/latest-news.php ), questa bellissima utility che sfrutta i file .xml generati da rFactor per gestire i campionati. Purtroppo al momento l'utility funziona solo sul suo sito e a quanto pare non ha intenzione di rilasciare il source code . In questi giorni sto provando a contattare Jaap per convincerlo a passarmi il codice, al momento non ho ancora ricevuto risposta appena avr? qualche info in pi? vi faccio un fischio.

"Hi Therapy,

Sorry for my lack of response! I saw your message and did not immediately reply. Then I simply forgot it Confused Crying or Very sad sorry! I've been very busy solving issues in and adding features to GPCOS.

Well, I decided to make it available as website only (for now). There are a number of reasons for this decision:

-- All leagues in one system. This allows for one great space of online leagues, with drivers competing in multiple leagues and very handy for the drivers as they have one site from where they arrange all of their racing activites, get their server password and see their results.
-- Centralized statistics. Because all leagues appear in one system, things like a Track Records overview per car is really great. It is not only a league management solution, but also a great multi-league experience.
-- One big pool of drivers and teams: drivers are in the system and league promotion is very easy as all drivers in the system will automatically see the league and see if it fits them in terms of car, racedate/time & competition.
-- Version compatibility: GPCOS is likely to update in the near future. rFactor result output will improve and increase. It is likely that LiveResults are reality very soon and I will make sure GPCOS will be updated with possible new interesting feature that rFactor might have. Have installations all over the internet does not make this easy.
-- Change-request control: GPCOS will satisfy a lot of league management needs. However, I'm sure that it will not answer all needs. That's why there is a 'enhancement request' form on the site that you can use to request new features. As soon an interesting request, I'll implement it and it will be available immediately for all leagues. Leagues do not have to worry about installing updates... no need for technical know-how of the code.. it just works straight away and if not, just contact me and I'll make sure it will be fixed.
-- Compatibility #2: if I add a new feature, it will work in the system. If there would be installations everywhere, people would be able to make changes to the sourcecode, thus risking to make their GPCOS installation incompatible with my version... this is an uncomfortable and unwished situation and eventually would be my problem. I decided not to walk this road and therefore implemented all necessary functionality for league owners to maintain their league right from the site. This is another advantage of this structure in this perspective.

Hope you understand. I don't see any problem in organising the leagues from the GPCOS website and it provides you guys with a lot of advantages. I hope you see that as well.

By the way: I will make it possible to have the results and standings displayed on other sites as well, using web services."

Qualcuno di voi si chiedar?: "che minchia ha detto???" In poche parole al momento vuole che il sistama giri su di un unico sito, in modo da poter dare maggior assistenza e per avere un sistema centralizzato di statistiche.

A questo punto io direi di provare ad iscriverci (? tutto gratis) mettendo qui sul forum i link diretti alle nostre due leghe. Se per voi va bene vi faccio un mini tutorial su come iscriversi e su come consultare le pagine.
